Thanksgiving
Yes I know. Thanksgiving is over, and Christmas is basically here, and I'm just now blogging about my trip to California. Since it was such a long time ago though, no one will have to suffer through reading those really ridiculous details that I usually include because I've most likely forgotten the majority of them! Well... you might have to endure a few of them, but not nearly as many. ;O)
Okay, so we start out of Provo around 10:00 a.m. in which we made it about 3 hours before my car started to smoke and I thought we were going to die! It was a VERY exciting trip let me tell you! Scott is observent and saw that the car was way over heating and we pulled over. Fortunately Scott's dad wasn't actually too far behind because he and Roger (Scott's brother who is now a senior in high school) were down in cedar city looking at the college there, and talking to track coaches. So, about an hour later Scott's dad comes up behind us and they take a gander under the hood of my car. Meanwhile, I was absolutely terrified of Scott's dad, and I didn't have a clue what to do with myself. I could sit in the car and be of no use, which I felt I would pretty much be anyways. Or, I could offer to help in any way possible, even though I barely knew how to open the hood of my car. Okay, Confession. I probably didn't even know how to do that. So as appealing as the first option sounded, I got out of the car and pretended like I was thinking just as hard as they were about my car. In all actuality, my thoughts were "wow, this could make for an even more awkward trip that I imagined, and I thought I had imagined a pretty awkward one as it was". So they look at the car, play around with things, and realize the fan belt had completely broken.
To make this part of the boring story short - we made it to California after all. It originally was supposed to be a 10 hour trip, but we barely managed to make it under 16 hours. Fun Stuff.
After we made it to California, I slept like a rock until about 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. I woke up, and kind of made crazy "psssssssssst" noises until he heard me and directed me as to what I was supposed to do. He let me know where everything was, offered me breakfast, and while he did, along comes his mom. Dun dun dun! How emberessing. Of course with my luck, his mom sees me in my ridiculous polka dotted pajama pants, Scott's Alabama sweatshirt, and of course my especially crazy morning hair, not to mention Teri's crazy morning face. It's a horror let me tell you. You don't want to see it. And if you have, you can probably understand the pain of Scott's mother. (Bare with me as I over dramatize everything!)
continued...
Let's see, While we were there we went to three different beaches , so I finally got to see the OCEAN! Woo Hoo! We also saw the San Diego temple which was gorgeous. It was pretty entertaining because while we were there these two sister missionaries come up to us and as if they want to take our picture. I was kind of hesitant because we were at the temple and taking a picture in front of this place where people are married for eternity was kind of... like an implication. So I sort of hesitated at first then we both said, "Sure". Oh I also met Scott's grandma this day. She was absolutely adorable! The first thing when we walked in she gave Scott this enormous hug, and then she turned to me, and said " Oh come hear, I ONLY give hugs." So she gave me a huge hug as well. So, I felt pretty comfortable visiting with her. Apparently she's 80 some odd years old, and is up with computers, and she looks like my grandparents did when they were probably 65.
Then the next day we just stayed home because it was Thanksgiving Day. We just hung out watching football games (of course, because Scott and his Dad are football fans, as well as BYU Sport fanatics!) . THat was thrilling let me tell you. We played the new Wii game thing. Scott's little brother stood in line at 5:00 or so in the morning so he could get it when it first came out. - Boys, They're crazy.- Umm.. and we had dinner. Not much out of the norm there.
and the next day...... DISNEYLAND! WOOT! That was amazing! We woke up really early, and didn't leave Disneyland until around 1:00 a.m. It was so exciting, and also more than exhausting.
BLah, Blah, Blah... I'll just cut that story shorter and unclude more pictures for ya k!
Okay... apparently I don't know how to actually get pictures on here... sorry... maybe if someone educated me of such things I would... I... just don't konw why it's not working...oh well.
