What's Love Got To Do With It???
Well, Why yes, it is that wonderful day, which we know as Valentine's Day. Pinks, Reds, and white are everywhere! It's in the hallways of school, on the doors and windows in the complex, it's on the calendar, it's on your cookies Ü, it's ALL AROUND US! ... "Love is in the air..."
Anyways, My point is basically... Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I just thought this to be somewhat interesting... so I thought I'd share. Last night I was bored at work, and I brought this book with me. It's called The Road Less Traveled: A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values, and Spiritual Growth By M. Scott Peck, M.D. (So basically I don't know how to underline that on this blog here deal-e-o, so just pretend k! ) . Anyways, here are a few of the most interesting things on Love I found in it so far! ENJOY~
"Love: The will to entend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth."
"For the process of extending one's self is an evolutionary process. When one has successfully extended one's limits, one has then grown into a larger state of being. Thus, the act of loving is an act of self evolution even when the purpose of the act is someone else's growth. It is through reaching toward evolution that we evolve."
"Indeed, as has been pointed out, we are incapable of loving another unless we love ourselves, just as we are incapable of teaching our children self-discipline unless we ourselves are self-disciplined. It is actually impossible to forsake our own spiritual development in favor of someone else's. We cannot forsake self-discipline and at the same time be disciplined in our care for another. We cannot be a source of strength unless we nurture our own strength. "
"I therefore conclude that the desire to love is not itself love. Love is an act of will-namely, both an intention and an action. Will slso implies choice. We do not have to love. We Choose to Love."
Yep Yep Yep, I hope you found something somewhat as fascinating as I seemed to last night!

so profound, I have to actually use my brain to interpret what it's saying. I, too, would like to hear any Valentine details. You better have some.

Debbie, I heard the noise that follows the line of "Computer's can do that?!", just so you know. Good times.
Those were some pretty deep thoughts, I'm impressed.

Debbie and I tried to visit you on Thursday around 6 but you weren't home. We all really want to hang out with you, though. Call us. Or maybe we'll even call you, who knows?
